One of only two venues located in the Park, The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum has sweeping views of Chicago’s skyline and the North Pond. The Museum boasts two outdoor spaces, along with access to all of the displays and exhibits. Foremost among these is the magical Judy Istock Butterfly Haven, where guests will enter a sealed private room with one thousand butterflies nesting, fluttering and alighting on trees, tropical plants, and even the guests themselves! Peggy Notebaert is the only museum in Chicago that opens all of its exhibits for events as part of the venue rental.
The Nature Museum event spaces are flexible and adaptable, giving you multiple options for your event, with a combination of small intimate settings and large spacious rooms.
Friedmann Family Terrace: Possessing breathtaking views of Lincoln Park, North Pond and the Museum’s Judy Istock Butterfly Haven, the Terrace provides a striking setting for your event. This unique outdoor space can also be tented.

Paula and Howard Trienens Atrium and Courtyard: A stunning three-story, glass-enclosed lobby overlooks our naturally landscaped ravine plaza just steps from North Pond. The Atrium/Lobby can accommodate up to 300 guests. The Courtyard/Ravine can accommodate up to 185 guests,
